Recently the Penn State scandal has been covered in the corporate media, it has been horrible revelations of child sexual abuse allegedly by a former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky. To date ten victims have come forward and their has been a witness who says he walked in on Sandusky raping a young boy in the shower.

So far Joe Paterno who seems to be the Penn State icon has been fired and other minor changes have been taken in regard to this child sexual abuse scandal while Sandusky is out on bail.

First I got to say this is a horrendous situation in which children were preyed on in what their parents thought were safe environments, most of the children went to a sports program for underpriveledged kids, sort of a sports camp claiming to help children. Now we learn that this program may have been used as a predators hunting ground.

The thing that jumped out at me was the uncanny parallels this scandal had with the molestation scandals of the Chatholic Church. In both cases a powerful organization was at risk of losing lots of money in support, donations, contracts etc should these molestations come to light. In both cases capitalism seems to prop up these powerful money making organizations, both powerful organizations along with the perpetrators were men preying on your boys and both cases these organizations chose the interests of the organization rather  than the children’s interests first.

As I think of all the jails and prisons I been to I remember clearly all the prisoners who flock to the t.v’s for college football, march madness etc. The corporate sports industry has a big following in prisons, very few prisoners see the sports industry as a tool of capitalism, the sports industry is a billion dollar industry who’s grasp reaches the third world sweatshops, exploit child labor and others who slave away to manufacture all the sports apparel and paraphernalia from t-shorts to beach towels. Within this drive for profit exists the Capitalist bourgeois immorality which puts profits above everything and everyone, and as we are seeing children are not even safe when it comes to the safety or profits! But this is not a ‘penn state thing’ it is found in all of capitalist culture where the people’s needs come last. This shit could have very well happened at any other university in America, just as the pedophilia scandal that rocks the catholic church could also have any of the Christian mega churches, of course there are sick people in all parts of society wether in sports industries, churches or any where else but these scandals and cover ups will be found in overwhelmingly higher numbers in these Capitalist related industries as the very nature of this profit driven system is to make more money at all costs and when wrong doing or injustice occurs it is swept under the rug, covered up or the victims paid off as hush payments but the business is protected at all costs. When the people excercise proletarian morality it is the people who’s interest is at the fore. A Socialist society would have no billion dollar gambling industry, not a billion dollar religious racket profiting off the people, when crimes against the people are reported their will be no fear of hurting the image of the corporation etc as building society would be the priority along with protecting the people. Karl Marx wrote in “On James Mill”… (..The greater and more elaborate appears the power of society inside the private property relationship, the more egoistic, antisocial, and alienated from his essence becomes man”.) So Marx knew very well how a society would on the one hand appear powerful while degenerating socially on the other and these two phenomenon are bound together and thus doomed to increase in veracity.

Most prisoners like their counterparts out in the community do not link the corporate sports industry to the hardware of Imperialism, as in any tool box Imperialism uses things like the sports industry, the church etc as tools to pacify the masses and as engines for profit and exploitation as well as reinforcements of patriarchy and thus dens of depravity where predators can thrive. Most prisoners (contrary to the bourgeois propaganda) despise child predators as most prisoners have children and would be very unforgiving to say the least should a pedophile or child abuser walk through the door yet only a small minority of prisoners connect the dots when it comes to corporate industries which would protect the business and thus allows animals like pedophiles to go on with their sick ways, it is not enough to denounce the abusers and look the other way to a system that creates these environments where the money is protected and the people suffer, these children and future children deserve to live in a society where their wellbeing comes first not the reputation of a corporation.

And it amazes me how the Imperialist come out so hypocritical on anything concerning the peoples well being, Imperialism is the exploitation on a global scale so its definition itself is contrary to the benefit of the worlds majority and so they find themselves between a rock and a hard place because they are forced to come out in a speech about human rights when their system, their program in the U.S. is to ensure an economic system stays in place where it relies on violated basic human rights for profit both here in the U.S. and globally. It cries regime change for torture and thousands in America languish in solitary confinement tortured for decades. On 1-21-10 Hilary Chilton gave a speech titled “Internet Freedom” in which she spoke about how Google states it experienced cyber attacks that they claim originated from China. The speech was spewing all sorts of Cold War rhetoric and accused China of internet censorship. Censorship! I laughed out so loud my fellow prisoners held in cages next to me probably thought I went plum loco. Hilary Clinton spoke of things like an information curtain. Imagine that! When here in America activists get cyberattacked to prevent them from protesting as happened recently in Oakland Ca when activists were protesting BART or how about the prisoners who get reading material censored every day in America? Like when Revolution Newspaper was censored amongst other reading material. So America cries about cyber attacks while on June 23, 2010 Robert Gates the then Pentagons secretary of war announced new military cyber command has been created to conduct cyber warfare. So who’s the real cyber terrorist here?

We will never root out these havens for bourgeois immortality until we put peoples institutions in place and until then we will continue to see scandal after scandal with those vulnerable always suffering the most.
