“I have never found a more powerful message than the one found in your paper [Revolution]” – a new subscriber in California

"More African-American men are in prison or jail, on probation or parole than were enslaved in 1850, before the Civil War began."   - Michelle Alexander, author of “The New Jim Crow, Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness”

Society casts them off as the "worst of the worst." Revolution (www.revcom.us ) newspaper provides a lifeline, enabling prisoners to understand the world and how it can be radically changed for the better through revolution.  Some prisoners are transforming themselves to be part of emancipating humanity.

You can see it in their letters to PRLF:

“When dealing with Brothers hardened by the streets you have to show that you really care about them at least make an attempt to understand them. You at Revolution do a beautiful job at this, as far as documenting the struggle and reporting on the international level.  Revolution articles about the Black struggle and Africa are what initially got my attention, eventually I began to discover other Peoples struggle and I soon realize[d] that they are interrelated and a direct result of a parasitic exploitative system.  I’m still learning Spanish, right now I’m functional.  It was amazing how my world opened up, and I started making new friends once the Latinos realized I was legitimately trying to understand them and communicate, and I wasn’t on that American “Speak English” Chauvinistic Bullsh*t….Please send me the Revolution paper about Mexico and why Mexicans are forced to cross the Border.  Please send it in Espanol.   This will help tremendously, and help them make the connection.   — Prisoner from Texas

The cost of renewing the current 800 subscriptions is $28,000 per year and urgent requests for new subscriptions keep rolling in. Only with your help can PRLF meet these prisoners’ deep desire for revolutionary literature.
